Saawariya Music – My Latest Fixation

3 10 2007

I have this very weird fixation about music ….esp Hindi Film Music. It’s like whenever I have any bit of free time, I have to listen to the same set of songs over n over again and sing along with it…sometimes its lip syncing (@work) or actual singing when in my car or at home.

My current favorite album has been the music of Saawariya. It is one of the finest music album created in recent years. It is one of those albums that doesn’t need any remixes of the songs to increase the album sales.

The title song ‘Saawariya’ gets you rolling with some catchy lines and foot tapping and neck shaking moves. The reprise version of the ‘Saaawariya’ is amazing at showcasing the singing talent of Shalil Hada. Check out the other song ‘Masha-Allah’, soft and melodious to describe a woman’s beauty. Kunal Ganjawala and Shaan are in form with the respective songs ‘Pari’ and ‘Jab Se Tera Naina’. Parthiv Gohill is the new singer in the album in the other wonderful track Yoon Shabnami’, it has a bit of qawalli in it too.

This album is a dream come true for the 2 newcomers – Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, who by the way looks so dam beautiful in the movie. She looks the like the girl next door who you’d want to take home to your parents. 🙂

Changing Lives

17 08 2007

As most of philosophers and scientists have been saying since so many generations – “The only thing that is constant is Change.”  Everything and everyone changes at some point of time or the other. There is nothing in this world that cannot be affected by change. Change can be good or bad but it always happens for a reason. You learn a lot from changes around you.

Circumstances change which leads to change in way of life. The way of life affects how people change their behavior. Changes in behavior leads to changes in relationships.

I’ve been a part of this change cycle myself. Since the start of 2007, quite a few things have changed in my life. All for the good, I must say.  I’ve grown a lot as a person in the last 8 months. And although most of my friends & family would disagree but I feel I’ve become more mature.  Quite a few of my relationships have changed coz of the change in me.  I’ve made new friends, formed strong bonds with other friends but then some bonds seem to get weak as days go by. But like I said before, you learn from every change and this is my learning process.

Playing it safe

8 06 2007

I just realized during an episode of ‘Scrubs‘ that like  J.D. (Zach Braff), I too am scared of taking chances in life; professionally and personally. I too am scared to make that first step. I’ve always tried to play it safe.

But I hope someday I would be able to overcome that and take that chance.

My Recipe for being a Reality TV Star

11 04 2007

If you want to be famous in the Entertainment Industry, the easiest way to achieve that fame is to be a Reality TV show star. And by star, I do not necessarily mean winning the competition. You could be more famous than the winner of the competition, if you can manage to keep the press, the media and people talking about you.

So here is my recipe if you want to achieve the stardom and the fame just like Taylor Hicks, William Hung and now Sanjaya Malakar.

1. Be weirdly different. Do something is that is funny to others but which is completely you.

2. Once you are in the finals, keep innovating yourself every week on the show.

3. Start a rumor about yourself in the press.

4. Have your friends and enemies write about your craziness on the web. Have  them create ‘I hate…’ and ‘I love….’ communities on various social networking websites such as MySpace, Facebook, Orkut etc.

5. Dig into your photos from all the past years and have them posted on the blog.  And then say to the press, you had no idea they were taken.

6. Get into an argument with a judge on the show and then apologize for being rude, but never say Sorry and retract your statements.

7. Flirt with the female judge on the show.

8. Have spoofs created on you on SNL, MadTV, Mind of Mencia, Tonight show, Late show, etc.

9. Cash in on every opportunity you get to make money. Appear in TV commercials for products that even you might never use.

Last and the most important one……

10. Win the God damm Competition!!!!!!

Its Not Over – Daughtry

10 01 2007

I was blown away
What could I say
It all seemed to make sense
You’ve taken away everything
And I can’t deal with that.I try to see the good in life
Good things in life are hard to find
Blow it away, blow it away
Can we make this something goooooood?
Well I’ll try to do it right this time around

Let’s start over
Try to do it right this time around
It’s not over….
Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground
This love is killin me
But you’re the only one
It’s not over….

I’ve taken all I can take
And I cannot wait
Wastin too much time
Bein strong, holdin on
Can’t let it bring us down
My life with you means everything
So I won’t give up that easily
Blow it away, blow it away
Can we make this something goooooood?
Cause it’s all misunderstoooooood

Well I’ll try to do it right this time around
Let’s start over
Try to do it right this time around
It’s not over……
Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground
This love is killin me
But you’re the only one
It’s not over…..

We can’t let this get away
Let it out, let it out  …..Don’t get caught up in yourself
Let it out

Let’s start over
We’ll try to do to it right this time around
It’s not over….
Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground.
This love is killin me
But you’re the only one
It’s not over
Let’s start over
It’s not over, yeah…Yead

This love is killin me
But you’re the only one

It’s not over…
